OUTREACH

Scientific Outreach is a passion of mine. Luckily, the LSU Museum of Natural Science is a great venue to conduct outreach, galvanize public interest, and improve public scientific literacy. I love communicating to the general public about my research, natural history, and the environment. I created this blog page to share a few of my favorite outreach events with you! Most outreach events utilize specimens from museum's Herpetology Collections.

Special Saturdays: Is it Venomous?

I had the privilege of leading one of the Museum’s Special Saturday events. I gave a 25 minute presentation titled: “Is it Venomous?” In the presentation I talked about the 7 venomous snakes found in Louisiana, harmless look-a-likes (or as I called them: “Mistaken Identities”), and many other cool snakes found in Louisiana. We also looked at specimens and made snakey crafts!
